This Dead Rising 2: Off the Record preview gives a quick look at what can be expected from Capcom Blue Castle’s upcoming zombie-fest title!
Announced at Capcom’s 2011 Captivate press show, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record features Dead Rising hero, Frank West, in a reinterpretation of the events seen in Dead Rising 2.
The game will play out a “What If?” scenario, where Frank West covered the Fortune City outbreak, instead of Chuck Greene.
After surviving the outbreak that occurred in Dead Rising, Frank West quickly became a bit of a celebrity. After authoring a successful book, he is given his own talk show, but soon wastes his opportunities and money as his fifteen minutes of fame expire. In hopes to regain a place in the spotlight, he accepts an offer from Tyrone King to appear as a special guest on Terror is Reality…
The game will be released on October 11th (US), October 14th (EU) and October 13th (JP) 2011, for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.

Brand New Elements
In addition to a new storyline and gameplay enhancements, Off the Record offers many new missions, cutscenes, environments, enemies, items, vehicles, and weapons!
Technical Updates
Off the Record offers many technical updates including load time optimizations, improved network performance, and other system upgrades.
PP a.k.a. Prestige Points & Photo Opportunities
Like the original Dead Rising, players will be able to earn Prestige Points (PP) for specific photo opportunities that are graded against criteria such as horror, drama, erotica, humor, and brutality. Photography has returned in Off the Record with the same bonuses that are in Dead Rising such as Erotica, Horror and Outtake.
Zombrex
Unlike the previous game (where players had to fetch Katey Zombrex), players will have to find Zombrex for Frank every day to prevent him from turning.
Sandbox Mode
Off the Record also features a new sandbox mode. This allows players to explore Fortune City without the obstacle of time. Challenges placed throughout the city offer players a chance to earn additional cash.
