With the release of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception on the horizon, here are some early story details, which we can expect to see in the third installment!
Fortune hunter Nathan Drake treks into the Arabian Desert in this title to search for the fabled “Atlantis of the Sands”. But Drake’s quest descends into a desperate bid for survival that strains the limits of his endurance and forces him to confront his deepest fears when terrible secrets are revealed.
These early story details, revealed by Naughty Dog, are generating more excitement for Uncharted 3 fans! Read on for more tantalizing info.

UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception continues to evolve all of the core principles laid out in the previous UNCHARTED titles, most important of which is creating a compelling interactive cinematic experience and narrative – a trademark of the series.
Throughout the game, players will be taken to spectacular new locations around the globe that will showcase all of the physics, particle and visual effect work Naughty Dog have been busy with.
This title will see Drake and his pals searching for a legendary lost city that will ultimately take him to the Arabian Peninsula and the vast wasteland of the Rub’ al Khali Desert, also known as the Empty Quarter. The plot will draw more from Drake’s exploits as well as from the life of T.E. Lawrence — not as the fabled “Lawrence of Arabia,” but rather his early years as an archaeologist.
Naughty Dog developers have also said that only about half of the game or possibly less than that will take place in the desert!
According to creative director Amy Hennig, the theme of deception plays out in multiple ways throughout the newest title; Drake is said to be the deceiver, the deceived and there will also be some deception in relation to his identity. The story will also focus on the hero’s relationship with his one time mentor and father figure, Victor “Sully” Sullivan – a character we definitely don’t know enough about! It will be interesting to see how the relationship and back story regarding the two will be developed.
The two will be pitted against the occult treachery of a shadowy clandestine organization and its ruthless leader, Katherine Marlowe.
In regards to the game’s ending, Emily Rose (voice of Elena Fisher and star of TV show Haven) stated “The final scenes of Uncharted are definitely worth all of the play time, and the stuff that we wrapped up…was literally Nolan and I looking at each other like, ‘Oh my gosh, are you kidding me? That’s amazing. I did not see that coming.'”
As a fan of the uncharted series myself, I cannot contain my excitement at this news! It looks like the character relationships, backstories and action-packed story will be amped up to new levels in the third installment – bring on November!
