Kinect Sports: Season 2 Trailer Release Date Announced

The newest Kinect Sports: Season 2 trailer has been revealed at Gamescom and producer Harry Robinson talks a little bit about the project!

The trailer shows smoother motion/interactive play in its most popular mini-games, such as Tennis and darts!

However, Kinect Sports: Season 2 isn’t a solo Rare project this time around and also sees Canadian developers BigPark join the team to work on additional sports.

Rare staffer and Kinect Sports producer Harry Robinson, spoke to VG247 at the Microsoft gamescom 2011 Play Day Event. He explained that despite an expansion of the core development team, the game is still “Rare at heart.” He went on to say that Kinect Sports: Season 2 is “a game that everyone can enjoy – it’s family friendly, fun, and we put our little elements of humour there – stuff that’s traditional to Rare – so I personally don’t feel like we’re not developing a Rare game – I think we are.”

In reference to working with BigPark, Robinson stated that “At Rare we’re working on four sports and the main menu system, while BigPark are working on two sports – American Football and Skiing – we’re working on the other ones. We’re still a large studio and we’re working on all sorts of bits and bobs aside – there will be more from us.”

Kinect Sports: Season 2 launches on the 25th of October (US), 27th of October in (Asia & AUS) and the 28th of October (EU) 2011.
