Uncharted 3 Trailer Shows Airplane Gameplay

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception was featured at Gamescom 2011 where an exciting new stage demo of the game was shown by Naughty Dog during the Sony Conference.

The gameplay was a cinematic and action-packed marvel, exactly what you’d expect from the sequel to Uncharted 2.

The demo starts out showing Drake in an urban city environment with Elena in tow. Soon into the demo, the two get seperated when Drake climbs over a high grated fence, promising to help Elena over. But when he reaches the other side, he tells her to go. The love-angle is heavily played up here and it really shows off the cinematic nature of Uncharted 3.

Once on the other side, Drake is spotted and an intense rooftop chase scene ensues as Drake races through and leaps from rooftop to building rooftop, eventually reaching a runway with a plane taking off. He tries to catch the plane on foot, but no sooner is he losing the race when Elena shows up in a truck to pick him up.

This part of the game shows off the intense scope, as Drake looks like a small Toy Story toy as he leaps onto the wheel of the plane and is raised into its body. While inside he gets attacked by a hulking big guy who opens the back of the plane and tries to force Drake out! This scene reminded me of the Tyrant fight from Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Eventually Drake bests this boss and must then dodge unloaded cargo that comes rushing towards him. The trailer ends in dramatic fashion as Drake is hanging off the cargo from the plane!

BOOM!

The Uncharted 3 release date is on November 1, 2011 exclusively for PS3.
