On Wii, DSi & 3DS eShop: Avenging Spirit, Super Adventure Island 2

Nintendo downloads this week in America and Europe. The games go live at 9AM Pacific time on Thursdays.

Important: Today (August 11) is the last day for current Nintendo 3DS owners to register for the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program. Just connect your Nintendo 3DS to the Nintendo eShop by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time to receive 20 free downloadable games!

Nintendo has now added these new/classic games to the Wii Shop Channel, Nintendo DSi Shop and Nintendo 3DS eShop. Users with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points or Nintendo DSi Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel. Nintendo DSi Points can be purchased in the Nintendo DSi Shop. While the Nintendo eShop is a cash-based service, where virtual wallets are added to using a credit card or by purchasing a Nintendo 3DS Prepaid Card at a retail store and entering the code from the card. A Nintendo Points Card can be purchased at retail locations or Amazon.com.

Very cool news this week that Netflix is on 3DS. On an average day, more than 1.5 million Netflix members instantly watch TV shows or movies via the Wii console. So I’m sure it’ll be very popular on the 3DS handheld too.

American Nintendo Downloads

This week’s 3DSWare eShop game is:

• Avenging Spirit (Jaleco, Game Boy, $2.99)
Description: This classic action game introduced a unique system for possessing and controlling other characters. Help a heroic ghost rescue his girlfriend from her kidnappers so he can finally rest in peace. (For Nintendo 3DS)

New on the Nintendo 3DS Video Channel:

• Crazy Hamster (Gamelion, 200 DSi Points/$1.99)

Description: After a disastrous previous relationship, our chubby hero, Master Higgins, finally found true happiness with his new love, Tina. Things couldn’t have been going any better for Master Higgins as he sailed across the beautiful tropical water with his beautiful tropical wife. But little did he know that trouble loomed just over the horizon. A vicious hurricane tore apart the raft that Higgins and Tina were on, and they soon found themselves tossed into the sea. They became separated and beached on different islands, and both had amnesia. Tina was taken in by the king of Waku-Waku Island, and soon she was betrothed to him.
