Disgaea 3: Return PS Vita Remake Announced

A Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice PlayStation Vita remake, dubbed Disgaea 3: Return, has been officially confirmed for Sony’s next-generation portable device.

This should not come as a surprise, as previous Disgaea games were eventually released for handheld systems as well.

So what’s new this time around? Quite a bit! Fans who’ve played the previous PlayStation 3 version will definitely want to get their grubby mitts on this new portable release, as it adds a number of new features.

They include:

  • All of the PS3 downloadable content included out-of-the-box.
  • Two all-new characters.
  • Four all-new scenarios.
  • All-new post-release downloadable content.

Sadly, it looks like the graphics will not be getting improved, although they will look even better on the Vita’s smaller, sharp screen. Load times HAVE been improved, and features of the PS Vita such as the back Touch Pad and motion controls may also be supported.

Nippon Ichi additionally states that the fourth new scenario is so big that it easily could’ve been divided in half and called two seperate scenarios. So the developers are promising a lot of new content. And apparently working on new content is one reason that the visuals haven’t been improved much, because they’ve been working on giving fans something new instead of prettier graphics.
