Deus Ex: Human Revolution Preview

This Deus Ex: Human Revolution preview gives a quick look at what can be expected from Ubisoft Montreal’s cyberpunk, action-RPG. It’s due to be released on August 23rd (US), August 25th (AU) and August 26th (EU) 2011, on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360!

Deus Ex Human Revolution is the third game in the Deus Ex series; Taking place in the year 2027 (25 years prior to the first title), this game is set in a world where biomechanical augmentation is commonplace and the population is divided by the ethics and effects of transhumanism. This game also includes complex themes such as governmental conspiracies. Not surprising really that Deus Ex: Human Revolution is the most anticipated upcoming game next to Uncharted 3!

With a mixture of combat, stealth, hacking, exploration and social elements, this game is certainly one to get excited about!

Key Features of Deus Ex Human Revolution:

Here is a list of key elements that will be available in Ubisoft Montreal’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution based on news and announcements made so far.

Regenerating Health Model
Regenerating health will encourage tactical and strategy forming retreats, but not to the extent where the tension and flow of the game is disrupted. Health restoring consumables like food will still be available for the player to use.

The ‘Pillars of Gameplay’
Combat, stealth, hacking, exploration and social elements form, what the developers call, the central ‘pillars of gameplay’. Players can switch between these gameplay types at any point, and certain pillars may flow into others. For example, a failed hack may sound an alarm and start a fight.

Tactical Vision Augmentation
Using this vision set, players can highlight objects to interact with. This feature can be turned off in the game options of the player prefers. Other augmentations allow the player to use special abilities that cater to the five ‘pillars of gameplay’.

Enemies & Squads

Enemies will react to subtle player actions; a change in weapon or behavior can affect how people act and react around you. Every enemy squad will have a leader that dictates what the others will do. take out the leader and you have the advantage.
