The Darkness 2 Delayed Till 2012

The Darkness 2 has officially been delayed to 2012. The original The Darkness 2 release date was set for October 4th in time with this coming month of Halloween.

The new Darkness 2 release date is now set for February 7, 2012 in America with a February 10th international date. It will be out on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and later that year for Wii U.

What is the reason for the game being delayed? No reason was given but it is likely that they wanted to avoid having to compete with the likes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Uncharted 3, etc. It’s going to be one heck of a crowded Fall! Thus waiting until 2012 will allow the game to hopefully get more exposure and avoid the gigantic avalanche of competing quality games, including multiple FPS titles.

In other The Darkness 2 news, since the game is based on a comicbook series of the same name, which is celebrating its 15-year anniversary, The Darkness 2 will be at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con event this week, where a panel with the developers will be held. In which they will discuss The Darkness 2’s “Quad-Wielding” system in which you can attack with your Demon Arms wilst wielding and firing your two guns simultaneously; effectively giving you control over four limbs at once. The Darkness 2 Comic-Con Panel will be held on July 21st from 12pm to 1pm Pacific in Room 9 of the San Diego Convention Center.

Here is a trailer for the game.
