Lollipop Chainsaw Announced By Suda 51 (Xbox 360, PS3)

Lollipop Chainsaw has been announced as an upcoming action game for Xbox 360 and PS3 from Grasshopper Manufacturer and Suda 51 who serves as the game’s “Creative Director”, alongside Masahiro Shidara as producer and Akira Yamaoka as sound designer.

In the game, first revealed earlier this year, you control a young girl (No, “lolipop” is NOT spelled with two L’s… the two l’s are for “loli”… though she looks like an adult in the scans. Oddly enough) named Juliet who wields a chainsaw with which she slashes apart zombies. Said girl hails from a family of zombie hunters and must defend her San Romero High School when it gets overrun with the brain-eating menaces.

A cheerleader who is adept at what she does, the player must thus acrobatically defend themselves with a variety of sexy and revealing cheerleading moves of death; showering the screen with pink blood as Juliet hacks and cuts her way to victory and cheer-prowess.

This scan reveals screenshots and artwork for Lollipop Chainsaw. Which is an AWESOME name!

According to the developers, the game will also contain a unique “pop” style that hasn’t been seen before.

Also there’s this famous commercial…. about lolipops, with a naked kid and a talking owl. Maybe you’ve seen it. It asks how many licks to the center of a tootsie pop. “The world may never know.” (actually the answer is over 9000 reportedly).
