Netflix for 3DS has gone LIVE. You can download the App right now, and if you have a Netflix account already set-up, then you can start watching Netflix movies on your 3DS right this moment!
Assuming of course that you have a stable enough wi-fi Internet connection to do so (3DS can hook up to hotspots or through your home router).
Netflix Prices Increased recently, but its still a fantastic deal either way you shake it, and you can get unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows on Netflix for only $8 a month!
3DS joins the other major consoles in supporting Netflix, including PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. But it is the only gaming handheld to officially support the service (although you can also watch Netflix on iOS systems, Android, Windows Phone 7, et al).
You can watch Netflix in action on 3DS in this 7 minute video!
In other 3DS video news, Nintendo has confirmed in the Netflix announcement press release that “select 3D movies” will be available “soon” for the Nintendo 3DS!
“Users will soon have access to an additional library of select movies that can be viewed in 3D without the need for special glasses,” the announcement says.
It is still unclear whether these stereoscopic 3D films will be viewable as part of the Netflix service, or whether they will be released as part of the Nintendo Video App or other service. However given that this news was buried in the Netflix announcement press release, it seems plausible that stereoscopic 3D movies could actually be deliverable to the 3DS through Netflix.
