They Bleed Pixels has been announced for Xbox Live Arcade: Indie Games and will be released this Summer 2011.
They Bleed Pixels is an impressive looking action platformer that takes cues from awesome Indie titles like Super Meat Boy and N+ Plus, while mixing in some bloody enemy combat with all of the spike-dodging traversal.
Developed by Spooky Squid Games, the creators of the Indie titles Cephalopods, Cephalopods: Co-op Cottage Defence and The Night Balloonists, they describe “They Bleed Pixels” as a “fast-paced, gothic, lo-fi, platforming beat’em up that drips, gushes and flows.”
Featuring a distinct visual style that blends pixel art with paper and ink textures, They Bleed Pixels is a singular mix of intense platforming and fierce beat-em-up action. It tells the story of a young girl haunted by a mysterious book and her violent Lovecraftian nightmares.
If you enjoyed N+ or Super Meat Boy, you’ll DEFINITELY want to keep your eye out on this one. Looks like a helluva lot of fun!
Here is the debut trailer. Like all Indie Games, you should be able to pick it up upon release for a couple bucks in Microsoft Points.
And be sure to check out the rest of the developer’s catalog at their official Spooky Squid Games website.
