Qriocity PS3 basic subscription given free to all PSN users. But for how long?

Sony will be giving free subscriptions to their “Music Unlimited via Qriocity” service to all PlayStation Network users as part of their continuing efforts to show their forgiveness to the PSN outtage and hack attack; You could consider it more of the PSN welcome back stuff.

Although in reality Sony is just pimping the service to coincide with the launch of the Qriocity Android App, adding to the number of devices that will be able to access their music service; Others include PSP, Blu-ray Disc Players, 2010 and 2011 Bravia HDTV models, VAIO PCs and more.

The free PSN Qriocity giveaway is for all users of the PlayStation Network and is the “Basic Subscription” which allows you to access the services library of over seven million music tracks for 180 days, after which you’ll have to sign up if you want to keep listening. Please note that you must be 18 years of age to take advantage of this free offer.

“The cloud-based, digital music service Qriocity gives music lovers streaming, commercial-free access at anytime and anywhere to an ever expanding catalogue of currently over seven million licensed tracks from major labels including Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI Music as well as leading independent labels and major publishers worldwide.

The Android App is compatible with Sony Ericsson’s Android-based mobile devices including Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia X10, Xperia X8, Xperia neo, as well as Android-based third party devices. You can download the App now from the Android Market.

The basic service offers commercial-free, uninterrupted music across a variety of channels and genres and provide instant feedback on each song to ensure that the service learns your music preferences and provides recommendations based on your personal tastes. The Premium service takes it one step further with access to premium music channels, and the ability to search the entire music database, play songs on demand and create custom playlists.

To access the 180 day Basic Service free trial, log on to your PlayStation 3 system and click on the Music Unlimited service below the Music icon. Once the application has downloaded, follow the sign up instructions.
