Killer Freaks From Outer Space announced for Wii U by Ubisoft. Exclusive FPS, debut trailer

Killer Freaks From Outerspace is new Wii U FPS from Ubisoft
Killer Freaks from Outer Space has been announced by Ubisoft as an all-new first-person shooter exclusively for Wii U, Nintendo’s upcoming 2012 console that will replace the Wii as announced at the Nintendo Pre-E3 2011 Press Conference.

No gameplay from the game has been revealed yet, outside of a couple screenshots. But the concept is incredibly interesting and looks like Ubisoft is definitely aiming for the hardcore with this one.

Earth has been invaded, and you must fight off hordes of evil little beasts looking to feed on your flesh with their sharp, gnashing teeth. Additionally Ubisoft has already done tons of viral marketing on the game with several fake web-sites and fake UFO sighting videos (check out StanMulder’s Youtube channel and Alien Conspiracy.com).

Here is the game’s official trailer.

One of the images from the game even suggests that it will be co-op, and the developers promise that the game will bring some interesting new gameplay mechanics making use of the Wii U controller and feature-set. To quote:

“When we realized the potential of what Nintendo was offering by creating a tactile controller, we were off and running immediately. Having that extra screen in the hand of the player allows us boundless innovation that ultimately gives the player a more beautiful game, a faster game interface, a personalized game experience, and so much more.”

AWESOME. I’m definitely looking forward to this one! What do you think?
