First Halo 4 trailer shown at E3 2011. Start of a new Trilogy
Halo 4 was finally officially announced exclusively for Xbox 360 by Microsoft on their E3 2011 press conference this week. It’s being developed by 343 Industries and is due out in Holiday 2012.
This fantastic news for Halo fans is made even better with the confirmation that this game will be the first in a new Trilogy!
“The news millions of Halo fans have waited for: Halo 4 is on the way. But that’s not all…” teased Microsoft Game Studios.
At the very end of the press conference the teaser showed Master Chief waking up from cryostatis to Cortana’s screams for help. As their spaceship explodes all around them, the Chief downloads Cortana’s A.I. program into his MJOLNIR armor suit and uses his newfound jetpack to get out. As they reach the outside of their spaceship, they see a Forerunner structure lighting/opening up.
A fun tidbit is that the Halo 1 HD remake called “Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary” for Xbox 360, will have added video Terminals to discover. Which will have clues to secrets about the Halos and how Master Chief got to be on them, told from the perspective of 343 Guilty Spark. These will lead into what Halo 4’s story is about.
