New Super Mario Bros Mii announced for Nintendo Wii U. First E3 2011 trailer

Technically speaking New Super Mario Bros. Mii on Wii U is the HD resolution version of New Super Mario Bros. Wii on Wii with new levels.

However, its real purpose was to show off how easy it is to switch between playing on the TV and playing on the Wii U tablet controller’s big 6.2-inch screen. The console will stream any game to the light-weight controller, instead of your TV, with ease. Very handy for when someone has to watch TV, but you want to continue playing to finish a level.

With Nintendo showing this off at the Wii U system reveal, this could be a candidate for a Wii U launch title.

Watch as this IGN video from the E3 2011 show floor shows how Mario is supposed to be played in this tech demo for the New Super Mario Bros. Mii game on the Nintendo Wii U console.

Here’s more gameplay by GT from the other levels on show at E3.

Looks like another fun Mario game, don’t you agree?
