The Nintendo 3DS eShop will launch on June 7 and with it comes a new launch title… Pokedex 3D! What’s more, it is available to download FOR FREE!
This new game, although it is more like an App, will provide 3DS users and Pokemon fans with a unique Pokedex which offers the following features:
Additionally, it has been revealed that Excitebike 3D, the other launch game for the Nintendo 3DS eShop, is a real remake! That is, the game is not just a port of the original NES game with stereoscopic 3D graphics layered on top. It is much more.
Instead, the game has been completely redrawn and remastered to take advantage of the stereoscopic glasses-free 3D of the Nintendo 3DS system, with the assets of the original NES game essentially inputted into a polygonal 3D recreation of the original title! The result is something that resembles the Sub-Con stage from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a complete reboot of the original title for a modern day console!
What’s more, Excitebike 3D uses the 3DS Depth Slider in a unique way, by allowing you to zoom in or out of the action by moving the slider up or down, offering new viewpoints on the high-speed racing action! Snazzy!
Excitebike 3D is the first in a line of upcoming “3D Classics“, which will be classic NES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Gear, TurboGrafx-16 and other titles rebooted in stereoscopic 3D with updated graphics and effects. Excitebike 3D will be available to download for free from now until July 7th, 2011.
