Wii and DS million-seller list updated by Nintendo

DS Nintendo-published million-seller games as of March-April 2011
Nintendo has updated its list of million-selling titles for the 3DS, DS and Wii.

While Nintendogs + Cats sold 3 million and became the first 3DS title to do so, plenty of other first-party games for the Wii and DS have also broken the million barrier, including some surprises (Very happy to see both Kirby’s Epic Yarn and Donkey Kong Country Returns up there).

Here is the updated list of million-sellers as of March 2011:

NINTENDO DS

New Super Mario Bros. DS 26.88
Mario Kart DS 21.04
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver 11.90
Pokemon Black and White 11.51 million
Super Mario 64 DS 9.65
Mario Party DS 8.21
Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story 4.13
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future 1.97
Art Academy 1.90
Mario vs Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! 1.78
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies 1.05

I am very, very happy to see Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story sitting pretty at 4 million! Very surprised that it did so well. That’s great news though because it is a phenomenal game and deserved to do well! I’m near the very end of the game… Also surprised to see Mario vs Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem make the list! That’s another game I need to pick up.

Wii Nintendo-published million-seller games as of March-April 2011

NINTENDO WII
Wii Sports 76.76
Wii Sports Resort 27.68
Mario Kart Wii 27.00
New Super Mario Bros. Wii 21.94
Wii Fit Plus 18.49
Super Mario Galaxy 2 6.36
Wii Party 5.77
Donkey Kong Country Returns 4.98
Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition 2.24
Kirby’s Epic Yarn 1.59
Mario Sports Mix 1.54

NINTENDO 3DS
Nintendogs + Cats

As mentioned above, very happy to see that Donkey Kong Country Returns did so well! Since it was developed by Metroid Prime Trilogy developer Retro Studios, it bodes well for the future of the studio! Also glad that Kirby’s Epic Yarn sold over a million! Another creative game that hugely deserved it! Surprised that Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition Wii did so well, then again I’m kinda not. IT IS MARIO. Very surprised at Mario Sports Mix… Interesting that two of these million-sellers that were published by Nintendo are Square-developed titles (Dragon Quest IX and Mario Sports Mix).

What million selling Wii, DS or 3DS games do you own?
