Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition announced for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Retail and digital

Evil Ryu vs Oni (Evil Akum) in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition was officially announced for Western release by Capcom at their Captivate 2011 conference.

It will be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC at retail (yes, a brand-new retail disc!) on June 28th (America) and June 24th (Europe). The PC version won’t hit until this Summer however.

In addition to being available at retail for all those people who didn’t buy the regular edition of Street Fighter IV or Super Street Fighter IV, Arcade Edition will also be available digitally as an Xbox Live Arcade or PlayStation Network downloadable upgrade to your existing Super Street Fighter IV game. If you download it digitally it costs 1200 MS Points with a comparable price on PSN.

Arcade Edition is an enhanced version of Super Street Fighter IV that features four “new” characters who have never been available in the home versions. They are: Evil Ryu, Oni (Evil Akuma), and twin fighters Yun and Yang (originally from Street Fighter 3). In addition, the Arcade version includes rebalances for the cast and new replay options. The balance tweaks may be coming for everyone though via a patch. But the real reason to own Arcade Edition remains the new characters.
