More Mortal Kombat 2011 characters will be delivered to fans post-release, and now we have official word of who the three new downloadable content characters will be.
All of these characters will be available to purchase for the game the day of the Mortal Kombat 2011 release date on April 20th (19th in America, 21st in Europe). Hopefully they will be priced cheaply… One-Day DLC is kind of annoying. But hey it’s more fighters so I’m not going to be complaining.
So who are the newest fighters to join the roster?
1. “Kenshi” or “Blind Kenchi” from the modern Mortal Kombat era.
2. Scarlet: An all-new female ninja, who is “blood-red” in color, this character was originally a glitch in the Mortal Kombat 2 arcade machine that turned characters red. However she will have her own entirely unique move-set and hopefully, a unique background and story.
To quote: Netherrealm’s Hans Lo, “People always thought it was a hidden unlockable character and it wasn’t, it was purely a programming glitch. She’s no longer a glitch, she’s an actual character, and she’ll be coming pretty soon post-launch.”
3. Kintaro: The four-armed “Goro-like-but-more-ass-kicking” character that made his debut as the end-game mini-boss of Mortal Kombat 2.
Don’t forget to pre-order Mortal Kombat 2011 for special “classic” character fighting skins (and a bonus classic fatality for Scorpion at GameStop) and definitely check out the Mortal Kombat 2011 special edition if you’re fan of the series for some cool extras.
I couldn’t find any videos of Scarlett, so here is one of Kenshi doing his Fatalities (warning, loud sound at first).
And here is a video biography of Kintaro from Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
