Face Kart: Photo Finish from Renegade Kid, makers of the first-person shooter/horror Dementium titles for 3DS, is the company’s take on the Cart Racing genre.

To be published by Majesco, the game literally puts YOU and your friends into a Cart Racing title by using the 3DS cameras to take a picture of your face (in stereoscopic 3D) and use their face in a created 3D avatar, cart and world. Where everything from the Billboards you drive past to the power-ups you use on your “real” opponents is customizable.

“Face Kart: Photo Finish lets players tilt and turn the Nintendo 3DS to steer their photo customized speedsters through 20 unique race tracks, as they drift around corners, soar over chasms and speed past the competition. Players use the Nintendo 3DS camera to snap their own picture and then map it onto their avatar, the landscape or even a turbo boost so they can pick up their very own power-ups as they race. Each avatar offers up to one hundred choices in hair, clothing and eyewear, plus cars can also be customized by tuning and tweaking to create the ultimate personalized racer.”

No pics or videos shown yet but the game definitely sounds intriguing enough.
