King’s Quest 9 has been announced as in development by TellTale Games!

The game is an all-new reboot of the classic beloved PC series (though it’d be the ninth) and will restart the franchise for a new generation!

The original series was designed by Roberta Williams, and recieved eight installments over the eighteen years that franchise was in existance. In more modern times, fans revived it with an episode entitled “The Silvering Lining” which was actually sanctioned by Activision who owns the rights to the property. Unlike that game this one by Telltale is a real reboot.

In addition to King’s Quest 9, a number of other games were announced including Puzzle Agent 2, Hector: Badge of Honor (port of the iPhone title), and the upcoming The Walking Dead and Jurassic Park based games.

Here is a very, very interesting retrospective on the history of the King’s Quest series, looking first at King’s Quest 1.
