Wondering what the battery life for the Next Generation Portable (PSP2’s codename) will be?
When Sony first unvieled the high tech device, while everyone ooed and awed over the extremely high-resolution screen and all the new graphical power, others went straight to the REAL make-or-break issue of any portable gaming system; And asked, “So… what’s the battery life going to be for this monster?”
And Sony has answered!
The battery life will be “about the same as the original PSP”. And that’s a quote from Sony head of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida, so you can take that TO DA BANK!
So while we still don’t have concrete details, you can take this statement to mean that the NGP will last you anywhere from a few hours to 10 hours, depending on the games and features you are using and whatnot. Not exactly what you were looking for, I know, but it at least gives you a good idea of what to expect.
As far as the price is concerned, it still remains to be seen, but Sony is so far saying it will be “affordable”. No release date either, but reports are saying “Fall 2011”.
