NGP game lineup for New Generation Portable includes Uncharted, Call of Duty, Killzone and LittleBigPlanet
A number of New Generation Portable titles were shown off at the PSP2 “PlayStation Meeting 2011” event. These NGP titles included several big-names from both third-parties as well as from Sony themselves, although few of them had official titles.
Along with a grip of known names that will be getting all-new entries, Sony announced five all-new NGP games: “Smart As”, “Broken” “Little Deviants”, “Reality Fighters” (a “augmented reality” title) and “Gravity Daze”.
Here is a list of core franchises getting new NGP entries:
1. Hot Shots Golf
2. Hustle Kings
3. Killzone
4. LittleBigPlanet
5. Resistance
6. Uncharted
7. WipeOut
A playable version of Uncharted was shown, and in it you could use the touch-screen to tap and jump (or use the X Button if you prefer), you could swing on vines by literally swinging the system back and forth, and you could climb by using the touchpanel on the back, making a motion “with both hands as if you’re climbing a vine”. Interesting.
Here is video of Uncharted running on the NGP.
Additionally, Capcom showed off Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and Lost Planet 2 running on the NGP, Sega showed off Yakuza 4 on the NGP, Capcom had Metal Gear Solid 4 running on the system, and Activision announced Call of Duty would be headed to the NGP. Epic Games also showed off their Unreal Engine 3 running on the NGP.
So what does most of the above mean? It means you can expect plenty of PlayStation 3 ports to be coming to the NGP in upgraded or picture-perfect form.
