Tim Schafer, the creator of Monkey Island, Full Throttle, Psychonauts and Brutal Legend, has said he is ready to make Psychonauts 2.

The latest issue of PSM3 has an interview with him asking about about the possibility of a sequel to Psychonauts for PlayStation Network.

To quote his reply: “I’m ready to do it. I’d love to do it. It’s really a question of getting a publisher who’s interested in doing it.”

As of late the digital Steam PC version of Psychonauts has been very popular on Steam sales, and the 2005 Xbox and PS2 console versions still have a cult following, all ready for a sequel.

“Over the years it’s gotten into the hands of a lot of people, through being two dollars on Steam for a while, and being pirated. So it’s gotten out there. So if all these people were going to buy the sequel it would be a big hit,” added Mr. Schafer.

It’s going to be interesting to see what their in-development “new game” is. Recently Double Fine Productions released Costume Quest for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
