Hybrid announced as new Xbox Live Arcade game from Scribblenauts developer 5th Cell

Hybrid 5th Cell FPS Xbox Live Arcade game announced
Hybrid, by formerly handheld-exclusive developer 5th Cell, has been announced as an exclusive Xbox Live Arcade downloadable title!

As you probably already know, 5th Cell is the highly acclaimed developer of hit DS games like Super Scribblenauts and the Drawn to Life games.

Now they will be applying their creative skills to an all-new platform.

However, Hybrid is probably not the type of game you are expecting. In quite the departure for the studio, Hybrid is a first-person shooter where two races, the “Paladins” and the “Variants”, are battling each other in a post apocalyptic world.

The game seems to be rather acrobatic, as the player can both use cover and leap across long distances to attack enemies.

However don’t think the game will be your run-of-the-mill, typical FPS, as 5th Cell promises that a “new, never-before-seen” mechanic will be a highlight of Hybrid, although they didn’t reveal what exactly it is.

Here is the official debut trailer, the game will be released in 2011.
