Introduction
Kirby was out for a stroll in the peaceful kingdom of Dream Land when he came across a bright red tomato. Little did he know that the Metamato belonged to a mysterious sorcerer, and that this encounter would lead to an epic yarn, beyond his wildest dreams…
After he decides to eat the metamato, it turns out it belonged to the evil wizard named Yin-Yarn who becomes angry at Kirby and sucks him into Patch Land, where everything, including Kirby himself, is made of yarn. Upon arriving in this strange world, Kirby saves a young prince named Fluff from an enemy. From Prince Fluff’s Patch Castle, the two team up. After Prince Fluff explains Yin-Yarn’s evil plans, Kirby agrees to help him. Kirby also discovers that the Metamato allows himself to transform into various forms. What fun! What’s not fun is that Yin-Yarn the scorcerer has ripped apart Patch Land. With the help of Prince Fluff, Kirby needs to gather magic yarn and sow the world back together.
Let’s go Behind the Seams with Kirby!
Discovering Secrets Hints:
The look of the world is stunning, but it’s also interactive. Pulling on stray threads might reveal hidden areas. When Kirby literally goes behind the scenes, the virtual fabric warps and bends to show his location.
Kirby Transformation Tips:
Thanks to his versatile yarn composition, Kirby can take on a variety of forms both in his common actions and when he transforms into powerful vehicles. When Kirby dashes, he zips around as a Car. In water, he turns into a Submarine or Dolphin. At times he can even transform into Tankbot, a massive robotic tank that shoots rockets. Then there’s a UFO flying Saurcer with a tractor beam, a Fire Engine is a truck that can put out fires, a Parachute, Pendulum, 2 Ton Kirby, Digger, Spin Boarder, plus other vehicles like the Train, Rocket and Off-Roader.
How To Earn Medals By Collecting Beads & Stars:
Beads and collectible items are scattered throughout the environments for you to find. While you can’t die, you do take damage when you’re hit by an enemy and lose the collected beads and stars in the process, which you need to quickly pick up from the floor again before they disappear. To earn the highest possible medals, try to avoid getting hit the entire level, as you’ll be rewarded for it at the end. Check the “Bead Gauge” at the top of your screen to see how many you’ve collected so far and what medal you’re currently at.
World 1: Grass Land
Level 1-1: Fountain Gardens
This is the first time Kirby transforms into Tankbot.
Level 1-2: Flower Fields
This is the first time Kirby transforms into a flying Saucer.
Level 1-3: Rainbow Falls
This is the first time Kirby transforms into a Spin Boarder.
Level 1-4: Big-Bean Vine
Tip: The Waddle Dees with colored balloons help you float to the top of sections in this level. But if you jump up in the air while riding the balloons up, you’ll last a few extra seconds before the balloons pop. At which point you should be able to reach either another Waddle Dee or the platform you’re trying to get to.
Level 1-Boss Fight: Fangora
During the Fangora boss fight, to beat this dragon you must:
1. Avoid his tongue attacks right before he’s about to strike by dashing away with the car or jumping up and floating with the parachute.
2. Avoid his flame balls, which come three at a time, by jumping over them. Bonus: By picking one fire attack ball up, and throwing it at the dragon’s face, you’ll get lots of beads.
3. Then after he’s done using either of those two attacks, he’s be tired and huffing with his tongue out of his mouth like a dog. That’s the time you need to strike and pull on the orange bead at the tip of his tongue. Repeat this until you beat him.
