Dead Rising iPhone announced

Dead Rising iPhone has been announced, allowing you to kill hordes of undead while waiting in line at the DMV.

Whatsat? You say how come there is no two at the end of the name? No, it’s not a typo. In a strange twist, this new Dead Rising iPhone game will be based off the first Dead Rising 1 and NOT the recently released Dead Rising 2.

Perhaps the reason is due to the fact that the less powerful hardware doesn’t allow a terrible number of zombies to be on-screen at once. Which would make the first game a better fit (especially if it’s based on the Wii version, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop).

Thankfully though, at least this new iPhone version will offer players an all-new storyline and gameplay structure even though the core game is based on the Frank West adventure.

The most interesting new feature of Dead Rising iPhone though is how it integrates social networking into the fold (makes sense as you are on a mobile device). If you die in the game, a distress call is automatically sent to your Twitter or Facebook accounts if you link them to your game. And then, if someone “Accepts” your distress post on Twitter or Facebook, you’ll come back alive with all your PP intact! WOOT! That’s actually a pretty cool way to use social networking. To add an even cooler twist, if your friends decline and you die, you will appear in their game as an enemy, CPU-controlled zombie!

Dead Rising iPhone will be released “this holiday”. So it should be here soon.

Here is a video of the game in action.
