“The Undergarden is a casual zen game that challenges players to explore underground caverns filled with strange life forms, sound, music and plenty of hidden secrets. Players traverse the Undergarden world in search of members of their musical band. Along the way they encounter physics based puzzles to be solved, strange life forms that must be befriended or avoided, and magical plant life that reacts to the music created around them.

Key features of Undergarden include:

  • Features enticing graphics and particle effects.
  • Dynamic and interactive musical score, all presented in a relaxing and mysterious environment.
  • Simple controls ensure easy access to gamers of all types and ages.
  • Players can play at their own pace, and embrace the game in different ways.

  • A world of colourful plants is created as the player distributes pollen. The plants in turn grow various types of fruit that can be used to solve puzzles, grow other plants, or fed to the wildlife.
  • Exotic living entities are encountered. They may either help or hinder your progress.
  • Find your musician friends and use their musical abilities to advance through the subterranean world.
  • Explore various environments that include caverns, underground rivers, and electric currents.
  • The Undergarden is a relaxing, non-violent game that combines elements of platform and exploration games together with soft physics puzzles. Simple controls, smooth animations and forgiving action elements makes the game accessible to gamers and non-gamers. Exploration is encouraged, with most actions resulting in visual and aural feedback.

The game is expected to cost $10 (or 800 Microsoft Points) and will likely be released next year. Although no exact date was given at the Tokyo Game Show 2010.
