Tropico 4 announced for PC and possibly console
Tropica 4 has been announced at Gamescom 2010 by publisher Kalypso Media as the sequel to Tropico 3. It will once again be developed by Bulgarian studio Haemimont Games.

The latest game in the strategy series will have you ruling over the island of Tropico, and will include an all-new campaign (natch), 20 new missions, 10 all-new maps, and 20 new buildings including the stock exchange, shopping mall, and aqua park; and six new disasters such as volcanoes, tornadoes, and droughts.

Players will now be able to appoint citizens to the Council of Ministers, where they can help in passing more controversial legislation. In addition to new game will include social media integration via Twitter and Facebook which allows you to Tweet or post to your wall directly from the game. It will also automatically update your profiles whenever you unlock a new in-game Achievement or complete a mission and the like.

The game is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2011 for PC and may come to consoles as well, although that hasn’t been set in stone. But given how Tropico 3 was released on Xbox 360 in addition to PC, it is likely we’ll see console versions for AT LEAST Xbox 360, if not PS3, for Tropico 4.
