It looks like Atari may be reviving Centipede and Star Raiders, two of their classic Atari 2600 titles, according to some Xbox 360/PS3 listings on online rental service GameFly.
This comes on the heels of the company announcing an all-new Atari Haunted House remake for Xbox Live Arcade, WiiWare and PC.
The original Centipede is a very popular arcade hit that most parents raised in the 70’s are familiar with (much like Pac-Man), and had players shooting the pieces of centipedes and other bugs to win. While Star Raiders is a lesser-known title but was the predecessor to games like Wing Commander and Elite.
If you don’t know of the games and want to check them out, look for an Atari Classics compilation or simply download them on Microsoft’s “Game Room” service for Xbox 360 or Games for Windows Live on your PC.
