Dutch gamers break non-stop gaming world record at 50 hours!

Endurance Gaming Event World Record set by 6 gamers at 50 hours
Last Friday 6 Dutch gamers began a gamermarathon that ended up lasting 50 hours. During this time, they played that many hours of Red Dead Redemption in a row and set a new world record!

Called the “Twistdock Endurance Gaming Event”, it took place at a Dixons store in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Official representatives of Guinness World Records were present. They confirmed this was a successful attempt at breaking the previous world record by Chirantan Patnaik from India, that was set at 40 hours and 20 minutes.

“The participants entered as foes and left as worldrecord-holding friends.”

While the group of 6 gamers started out as competitors, along the way they unanimously decided to make it through the last tiring hours of the marathon together. “Gamers unite!” as they say. Gaz Deaves, record official for Guinness World Records had this to say: “The participants entered as foes and left as worldrecord-holding friends.”

Congratulations to Edward & Maykel Leest, Sven de Vries, Renzo Bos, Robbie van Eijkeren, and Marcel van Waardenburg. Aside from the title Guinness Worldrecord holder, they each received €1.000 (that’s $1,300) and a Twistdock PS3 controller charger.
