Destination Arcade for Xbox Live Marketplace/XBLA releases on July 14th in the United States.

Although it sounds like some kind of game, Destination Arcade is in fact an all-new way to browse through the XBLA catalog of over 250 downloadable games. It’s simply a visual browser, which will make it easier for you to find the games you are looking for and sort the ever-growing list of content available to purchase.

It will also include all-new features that aren’t available through the normal menu browsing. These include a news feed, the ability to easily sort XBLA games by price, community rating, etc. and the ability to easily see what games your friends like and what games they recommend.

Hopefully Destination: Arcade will also be rolled out worldwide soon, as it is sure to make the clunky XBLA menu system a thing of the past.

Here is Major Nelson’s official post on the new UI:

“Next week we’ll be launching another way to browse content on Xbox LIVE Arcade and we’re calling it Destination Arcade. With a growing library of over 250 Arcade games, Destination Arcade will allow you to discover new games and content you enjoy through an easy-to-use visual browser. You’ll have the ability to sort by price, community rating, and more! Also, stay up to date on the latest arcade releases through a news feed and also find out what games your friends like and recommend. This brand new recommendation engine & visual browser app will be available in the US on July 14th from the Games Marketplace section of the dashboard. I’ve posted some screenshots of what it will look like if you want to take a peek.”
