Project Dust is a spiritual successor to Populous or Black and White for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, announced by Ubisoft at E3 2010.
Being created by Eric Chahi of Another World/Out of This World fame, the game is a God Game that allows players to take control of a dying tribe and effect them by taking advantage of the elemental powers at their disposal.
It is set for release in Spring 2011 and is Chahi’s first new game since the 1998 PS1 side-scrolling action adventure Heart of Darkness!
“Project Dust” is also a working title so the name may change. And it’s not to be confused with other “Dust” games in development, like the Eve Online FPS “Dust 514” or the upcoming XNA-produced Xbox Live Arcade title “Dust: An Elysian Tail”.
