Civilization V will be released exclusively for Windows PC on September 21 in the USA and September 24, 2010 in Europe. It will be available in both boxed retail and digital-only versions but uses Valve’s Steam service (required).

The news of the release date comes as anticipation for E3 2010 is just about to heat up, so chances are they want to remind folks not to forget about Civ 5.

Sid Meier’s Civilization V reinvigorates the classic turn-based strategy genre with an astonishing new engine built from the ground-up for this flagship edition of the Civilization franchise.
