Red Dead Redemption has shipped over 5 million units announced Rockstar, who also pointed out that Grand Theft Auto 4 has SOLD 17 million units!
Sadly Rockstar is only giving us numbers for the amount of copies that Red Dead has shipped, and not sold, but this is insanely good news for the company. As earlier in this year it was revealed that they were not expecting Red Dead Redemption to sell.
And on top of that, the game had been in development hell and taken over four years to make. They then commented that it would take a whopping four million copies sold for them to make money on the game. Thankfully, it looks like that figure is definitely within reach, as the game has been a massive hit.
We’ll definitely keep an eye out for when Rockstar announces actual sales of the game.
