Starter Pokemon in Black and White are Tsutaji, Pokabu and Mijumaru picture
The Pokemon starters for Pokemon Black and White have been revealed by Nintendo in the latest issue of the Japanese CoroCoro magazine. The 3 starter Pokemon are named: Tsutaji, Pokabu and Mijumaru (Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott in English – from left to right).

Expect the new Pokemon games from Game Freak/Nintendo to arrive in America and Europe in the first half of 2011, because it’s coming to Japan in Fall 2010.

This video shows the new starting Pokemon in action! Along with lots of other footage from the upcoming games, including a walk down a Hiun City street/alley, where NPCs appear to be able to attempt to engage in conversations with you freely. You also get a good taste of the music in the game.

Here’s a list detailing all 3 starters:

1. The first Pokemon’s name is Tsutaji (?????), “tsuta” means “ivy” and “ja” is one way of saying the word “snake.” It’s basically an Ivy Snake.

Tsutaji is the Grass Starter.
Its ability is Overgrow.
It’s 0.6m. tall and has a weight of 8.1kg.

2. The second Pokemon’s name is Pokabu (???), the name could derive from “po” for “pork,” “ka” from the Japanese kanji for “fire,” and “bu” is the sound a pig makes in Japanese culture (here it’s “oink”). It’s basically a Fire Pig.

Pokabu is the Fire Starter.
Its ability is Blaze.
It’s 0.6m. tall and has a weight of 9.9kg.

3. The third Pokemon’s name is Mijumaru (?????), “mijuku” means “immature” and “maru” means “round” or “ball.” It’s basically a Sea Otter.

Mijumaru is the Water Starter.
Its ability is Torrent.
It’s 0.5m. tall and has a weight of 5.9kg.

So it would seem the starters next time around will be an Ivy Snake, Fire Pig and Sea Otter.
Which starter Pokemon will you pick to explore the far away region of Isshu?
