Assassin’s Creed 2: Brotherhood is the direct sequel with Ezio

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is the name of a direct sequel to Assassin’s Creed 2. GameStop placeholder artwork has revealed the official sub-title early. Next week Ubisoft will be officially announcing the game that continues Ezio’s adventures.

Here’s a quote of what the text on the above artwork says:

“Live and breathe as Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order. Lead your own brotherhood of Assassins and strike at the heart of the enemy. Rome.

And for the first time, take part in an innovative multiplayer layer allowing you to embody an assassin of your choosing and define their killing style.

A never-before-seen online multiplayer experience.

Lead your own brotherhood of assassins, as Ezio, and conquer Rome.”

Apparently a GameStop pre-order will get you an exclusive, free multiplayer character skin (hopefully Altair). In this “innovative multiplayer” players can participate in an assassination mode against friends online.

Assassin’s Creed 2: Brotherhood will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in Fall 2010. Please note that this game is not Assassin’s Creed 3, which is expected to be released next year, in Fall of 2011.
