Monster Hunter Tri Weapons List

Monster Hunter Tri offers seven different weapon classes from which to select when it comes to the essential business of choosing your most important piece of kit. Within these weapon classes come vast customization opportunities. Visit the smithy to have weapons upgraded and enhanced by combining them with materials you have gathered (including horns, bones, or monster hides you carve from fallen monsters), or have an entirely new weapon forged when you’ve acquired the relevant materials. Both options, inevitably, come with a price.

Some of the weapons you carry come complete with slots. By placing decorations in these slots, your hunter will acquire skill points and become even more of a fighting force. As with your weapons, the decorations that adorn and improve them can also be created from materials you have gathered. The array of weaponry you can create in Monster Hunter Tri is truly incredible, and the weapons you wield will affect the way you move, the way you look and the way you hunt your prey. Take a look at the seven main weapon categories to see the types of weapons you can get your hands on:

Sword and Shield
Light movement, an excellent balance of attack and defense, convenient item usage, and a basic style ideal for mastering the techniques of the hunt make the sword perfect for new hunters – but in the hands of a seasoned veteran, this weapon can unleash a flood of fearsome, continuous attacks. In addition to the weapons versatility, many swords also provide special elemental effects, giving you extra support in combat.

Great Sword
This massive sword, standing taller than a hunter, can cut through anything. It’s weight will make your movements more sluggish, but its destructive force does more than enough to compensate. mowing down everything in its path, the Great Sword brings together a powerful charged slash and excellent guarding capability to make it a high-performance weapon. If your ant to get the real taste of the hunt, the choice is clear.

Hammer
A giant weapon made for hunters who have their hearts set on performing smashing attacks, inflicting huge damage and forgetting about defense altogether. Although it’s heavy, hunters are able to run around freely even when the devastating hammer is armed.

Lance
Not only does the Lance maximize defensive prowess with its giant shield, the long, versatile spear pierces weak points with deadly precision. Its most prominent feature is its combat style, which differs significantly from other weapons. As well as allowing you to move and attack from the guarding position, it also minimizes damage and allows you to finish opponents off with dash attacks and counter-thrusts.

Long Sword
The exquisite Long Sword boasts substance as well as style. Every attack a causes spirit to flow into the blade, which is ultimately unleashed with breathtaking results. The delicate nature of the weapon limits its guarding capabilities, but its amazing chop, which lets you execute attack and evasion moves simultaneously, make up for any defensive deficiencies.

Switch Axe
Brand new to the Monster Hunter series with Monster Hunter Tri, the Switch Axe is created by advanced techniques at the smithy and is a high-function weapon. It looks like a normal axe, but can morph into a sword-type weapon and use its built-in elemental powers to deal huge amounts of destruction. It may be difficult to use, but once you master it, you will have an extraordinary battle tool in your hands.

Bowgun
This long-range weapon, made up of a barrel, a frame, and a stock, is a true hunter favorite. Based on how you combine its different parts, you can use the weapon to do a variety of different things. Bowguns are in another category from close-range weapons altogether, with different controls, strategies, and available customization options. In short, the Bowgun offers a special – and effective – hunting style.

Monster Hunter Tri Items List

You might be a hunter, but that doesn’t mean monsters are going to turn and run every time they see you coming. Your first steps into the world beyond Moga Village will quickly reveal that you too are just another form of prey. That being the case, you’re going to have to secure every advantage you possibly can over your adversaries. Monster Hunter Tri offers hundreds of items that can ultimately be used to aid you in battle. Some can be found lying around on the plains you explore, others will be recovered from slain monsters, and others still will be created anew by combining what you already have in your Item Pouch. Items can be used for many things – recovering strength and stamina, temporarily boosting your overall abilities or inflicting direct damage on your enemies. It’s also worth noting that various items you’re willing to part with can also be sold for cash. The list of items and their effects is virtually infinite, but here’s a look at just a few of the essentials that could turn a grueling battle in your favor.

Traps
When the objective of your Quest is to capture rather than slay a monster, you’ll need to learn how to lure your pray into a Trap. There are two main types of trap that will render monsters immobile for a set amount of time. Pitfall Traps are activated when something heavy walks across them, while Shock Traps utilize the electrifying power of Thunderbugs to bring your enemy to its knees.

Sharpener
If you prefer to fight with close-range weapons, they’ll eventually lose their sharpness and become less effective. Use the Sharpener item regularly to make sure your blade of choice keeps its edge.

Meat
It might sound strange to offer a monster a hearty snack during battle, but a weary enemy needs sustenance, and there’s a chance a desperate foe will take the bait you lay out – only to discover you’ve riddled it with poison.

Bombs
Bombs inflict huge amounts of damage whether detonated on land or underwater, but the blasts can be both your friend and enemy – so be careful. Variations such as Flash Bombs and Sonic Bombs offer blinding and deafening alternatives to a standard explosive, but can also prove to be more damaging to you than your enemy.

Monster Hunter Tri Armor

Like the weapons you carry, the armor that protects you can be customized, improved and altered dramatically to show your unique style and serve your hunting purposes. There are five areas of your body you can cover with armor: head, torso, arms, back and legs, and each part of your armor can be improved in a range of ways at the smithy’s workshop. Ultimately, you’ll want to increase the resistance of your armor to both non-elemental attacks (inflicted by tooth and claw) and elemental damage (such as fire). The type of armor you can wear will also be determined by the kind of hunter you are. There’s a whole separate wardrobe for Blademaster hunters that use close combat weapons than there is for Gunners that stalk their prey with long range Bowguns.
