Bulletstorm has been announced as the long-awaited new game from developer “People Can Fly” (creators of Painkiller) and Epic Games. It will be published by EA’s Partner program.

Previously the game’s name had been unveiled due to a trademark filing, and a new project from People Can Fly has been expected now for quite some time. Although now its existence has been confirmed by Game Informer, which features a coverstory on the new project.

Its first official announcement will come via Cliff Bleszinski’s appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. An event that was supposed to happen last Monday and was pushed to today at the last moment. And now has been made somewhat obsolete thanks to all the leaks confirming both Gears of War 3’s release date and now this BulletStorm game.

No details on the game have been revealed yet except that it’s a shooter/action game of some sort and has artwork similar to Gears of War.

Game Informer’s official tagline reads: “As the name suggests, players will take on hideous mutants in a flurry of lead, all the while racking up combos that encourage variety over headshot after headshot.”
