Gears of War 3‘s release date is confirmed as around April 5 of 2011 according to creator Cliff Bleszinski himself when asked about the release date of the Xbox 360 exclusive on the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Gears of War 3’s release date is confirmed as April 2011 accord to a Microsoft ad on the Xbox 360 dashboard which apparently was accidentally posted a little early.
That’s because the big reveal for Gears of War 3 was supposed to come from creator Cliff Bleszinski himself via the Jimmy Fallon show. Sadly that didn’t happen as he was pulled from the show at the last minute . . . but the ad went up revealing Gears of War 3’s release date regardless! Whoooops!
The ad tagline reads: “The epic story concludes April 2011”. Although Cliffy B. didn’t make the last show, he will be on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon next Monday, April 12, 2010. So get that DVR-ready.
Edge Magazine is also reporting that Gears of War 3 will feature a bevy of all-new features, including underwater gameplay, a new weapon that travels underground, and new Locust enemies that can overcome traditional means of cover. In addition, the Delta Squad will have access to new mech suits. All of which Epic is hoping will significantly change up the gameplay and cover systems in the third installment.
