Splinter Cell Conviction again delayed to April and RUSE to 2010-11

Splinter Cell: Conviction delayed. Sam Fisher is only getting older
Ubisoft has confirmed delays for Splinter Cell: Conviction (from February 23 to April 2010) and RUSE. Their innovative RTS game didn’t have a set date but now has been pushed back to an even less specific date of “fiscal year 2010-2011” which stretches from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011.

There was no reason given for these delays, but as always the extra time to add a further level of polish that could mean the difference between a good Splinter Cell and a GREAT Splinter Cell is welcome. So no matter what, ultimately these delays will be worth it for fans and result in an even better game.

Splinter Cell: Conviction splitscreen co-op confirmed in this screenshot And this is particularly true in the case of RUSE. As a new perspective on the real-time strategy genre mixed with a hybrid board-game/overlord-style, polish could literally mean everything and be the difference between whether the game sinks or swims at retail and among critics.

These announcements were made during Ubisoft’s latest financial performance update.

It’s also important to note that split-screen co-op in Splinter Cell: Conviction was recently confirmed with the screenshot on the right. And this is one aspect Ubisoft will definitely want to take their time with to make sure it’s perfectly implemented.
