Chapter 3

Scalding Gallow ( To the Dry Roads)

As you can tell we have now returned back to the Scalding Gallow, Samael will show you to the Dry Road. He will also hand you a Chronomancer.

Once you have left Samael, you will need to take the road to the west, heading all the way to the north, you will find some Blue Crystals. They will be marked on your map with a yellow dot. Break these and it will reveal a Tremor Gauntlet, take a run inside.

Head to the north, here you will need to break some more blue crystals.

Once you have made it inside this room, there is a Chronosphere switch, you will be able to activate this with your crossblade. This will open a large door ahead.

You will need to hit the Chronosphere, then activate the switch. This will allow you to run under the door whilst time has been slowed. You will be able to use and operate this door on the side side just normally.

Head up the hand grips, jumping off the wall onto the pipes. You will then find your self looking at a dead end. Head to the north to find the Dry Road.

Dry Road

Once you have made it to the Dry road, you will encounter some enemies, you will be attacked by angels. Use your Mercy Pistol or your Scythe to knock them out. Once you have knocked them out of the sky you will need to attack them with your sword.

Jump over the gap, here you will find our friend Vulgrim.

Ashland’s Access Tunnel

In this tunnel you will come across a Grappleclaw, you will need to throw and bash it with cars. Remember to turn the Grappleclaw on the smaller enemies.

You will also need to aim and shoot at the Goremaw, he will then drop the cube. Jump onto the cube ‘s hand grips and the Goremaw will pick you up. You will then need to jump off towards the platform, float down to the chest where you will sore a Carnage Enchantment, use this straight away.

You will now need to bring the cube back down to the ground, use it to get to the east platform.

Grabbing the bomb, you will need to throw it onto the red crystals. There are also hand grips located on this wall. Dropping yourself down to the lower platform make your way over to these hand grips.

Once you have crossed the hand grips and entered the pipe, you will find three more Goremaw’s. Use your Mercy at the one closest to you, quickly make your way onto the rope. Moving to the right , this will take you away from the other Goremaw’s.

You will now need to target the other Goremaw’s using your crossblade. Following the demonic growth up and out of the cave.

Just ahead you will see a Vulgrim location on the left hand side, you will need to activate this.

Darksiders Walkthrough – The Ashlands

Ashland’s Tower Part 1

You will need to target the Chronosphere that is located high above the entrance , you will need to charge up your crossblade. Have a look on your map, head to the north and run up the ramp.

You will need to keep going down the lower path, dropping down onto the cave floor, you will need to follow the path out to the other side, you will not be able to cross the sand just yet, head to the right and head up the plank walkway.

In the tower you will find a Geyser and some demonic growth. You will need to climb the tower using the demonic growth, crossing the ceiling as well. You will need to activate the switch that is inside to bring down the Chronosphere. This will bring the Chronosphere down to the ground level.

Hop down to the floor near the Chronosphere and turn it on. Crossing the raised path afterwards.

As you make your way west, you will need to cross the raised path, you will need to charge your Tremor Gauntlet, this will send the enemies close by soaring over the edge.

Ashland’s, The Tower Part 2

You will need to make your way up the Demonic Growth that is located on the outside of the tower, this is where you will find the switch to activate the Chronosphere lower.

You will need to jump down, have a look for ledge that you will be able to stand on, under the spinning blades.

You will need to hit the Chronosphere with your crossblade. This will allow your to cross the ceiling towards the other side. You will need to move counter clockwise with the motion of the blade, whilst doing this you should be able to grab onto the demonic growth.

You will need to make your way all the way to the north tower, climb up the exterior of the tower. You will see the red crystal, you will need to get rid of them.

When you get to the top you will be ambushed, you will need to use your Chaos Form to get rid of the enemies.

You will now need to stand near the bomb growth, when you are up there you will need to once again activate the Chronosphere, which is located across the room. You will need to do this with your crossblade. Grab a hold of the bomb and throw it off the edge.

You will need to drop down below at the time is slowed down, throwing the bomb into the crystals, you will now need to make your way back up demonic growth to the top of the tower, switching the Chronosphere to low.

You will need to make your way down to the ground, entering the inside of the tower, you will need to use the Chronosphere to slow down the spinning blade. Make your way across the ceiling using the demonic growth.

You will now be able to cross the tower heading towards the South, you will be able to another switch to lower another Chronosphere.

When you get to the top of the tower you will see a large dynamo running the drill. You will need to find the switch near to to turn it of and raise the drill slightly.

You will now be able to drop down into the cave.

Darksiders Walkthrough – Return To Dry Road

Ashland’s, The Caves Part 1

Swim to the surface and make your way to dry land, you will now need to follow the tunnel back to the Goremaw filled location, you will then see come blue crystals.

You will need to destroy these to reveal a cube that is able to be moved. You will have to push this cube under the nearest Goremaw, it will snatch it from you. You will then need to shoot the monster with your Mercy pistol. It will let go of the cube, you will need to jump onto the cube just like you have done in a previous level. It will then lift you up, this will allow you to grab onto the hand grips.

When you are lifted up, you will need to smash the blue crystals that will reveal a Chronosphere.

You will once again need to hit the Chronosphere and time will be slowed down, you will then need to grab a bomb and run down to the open area that has the red crystals. Throwing the bomb at the red crystals will cause the crystals to clear and bring down a large segment of rock.

You will then be greeted by some angels as well as some Goremaw’s. You will need to keep clear of the green moss looking paths.

Using the platform you will need to blow out the ceiling to leave the cave(if you have not done this already). Crossing the water and climb up the demonic growth to reach the surface.

Running round to the south west side of the wooden platform, you will now need to climb the rocky platforms.

Ashland’s, The Cave Part 2

Make your way inside, prepare yourself as you will be ambushed by a Berzerker as well as some smaller enemies. You will need to use your basic attack, your wrath on the smaller enemies whilst you are building up your Chaos to use it on the Berzerker.

Head up the ramp where the Berzerker was, following the winging caves that will lead you to the next waypoint. Knocking the enemies you come across on the wooden walkways. Use your Tremor Gauntlet.

You will eventually come to an open, there are wooden towers and a patrolling worm, you will need to use the towers to cross this area safely.

You will need to plan your runs between the towers, do it whilst the Titan is far away, you will need to be a bit patient with this part of the quest.

There will be an ambush ahead, so be prepared to take on the enemies!

Once you have defeated the Devastator grab hold of his fracture cannon, this will come in Handy.

Ashland’s, The Cave Part 3

There really not much to this section, you will have a few ambushes but it is nothing you will not be able to handle.

It will be a good idea if you hang onto your fracture cannon, this weapon has some great power!

Once you have defeated the enemies, a cutscene will appear showing you a wooden draw bridge coming down, this draw bridge is located in the North section.

Darksiders Walkthrough – Stygian Boss Battle

The Ash Titan

It is now time to take on the Ash Titan. You will need to make sure that your Mercy is equipped, once it mouth opens and it starts to come out of the sand you will need to make a sun for it.

You will need to fire at the worm with your Mercy, this will damage it weak spot. If you some how do get knocked off your horse you will just need to summon it and he will return to you.

You will eventually get a prompt above the head of the worm, make your way up to the head of the worm, following the instructions.

Now you have killed the worm, there will be a new opening that leads you to the north. Before you make your way into the new area, you will need to take a ride to the rocky ledge. Get off your horse and follow the ledge to the east. You will find a chest here.

Make your way back to the new exit.

You will encounter some enemies, using your wrath and hour cannon should take care of them.

Take a swim in the flooded chamber and head to the north, you will come across some enemies. There is also a Vulgrim location to the right before you leave the cave.

The Gladiator Arena

In this battle it is all about using your Chaos meter, you will need to use it in the final parts of the battle.

You will encounter some enemies on horseback for the first time, you will need to attack them with your sward just like normal enemies.

When you come into close range of these beasts, you will also be able to use your Mercy Pistols to get rid of some of their health. Remember do not wait for them to attack you! GO FOR IT!

When the Abyssal Riders get lose to you, have a go using your scythe and your sward combo’s, if the horses buck up, you will need to dash out of the way. Remember to have a look in the chests for health and any other goodies that may be lying around.

Remember make sure you use your Mercy to weaken the riders, when they move in you will need to use your wise-range attacks. Once you have slowed down time, you will be able to get in there and attack the riders.

Remember do not use your Chaos until the final battle. There will be a third and final wave of enemies, you know what to do!

Abysaal Gladiator

When the Gladiator appears, you will need to take him on straight away, use your Mercy. When he pulls away from you, you will need to quickly dash out of the way.

When you are able to stun the Gladiator, he will go very limp, you will then be able to attack him. Remember this is the time to use your chaos, however you need to make sure It is fully charged.

A prompt will appear, this will allow you to push him off his horse. (use your chaos now if you have not used it already)

Once you have activated your chaos, the battle will finish in a few seconds.

You will then be rewarded with your own personal steed.

The Stygian

In this section you will need to take out all the soldiers first. Dashing through them will get rid of them fairly quickly.

This is a pretty long battle and a hard battle. You will need and want to keep your lock on button on for the entire battle. Keeping your Mercy pistol equipped is a good idea as well.

You should lock onto the weak spot on the worms mouth, you will also need to fire at the worm. Once you have damaged the worm, it will retreat. It will then summon some smaller little worms into the battle. You will need to shoot at them and dash out of the way when they get close to you.

The Stygian will come out of the ground(when if decides to return). You will need to dash out of the way, keeping your distance.

This is the last two rounds of the battle. There will be smaller worms and then back to the big one.

After a few more rounds of hitting the weak point of the Stygian, it will eventually fall to the round. The prompt will then appear above it. You will need to ride up to it and activate the prompt to finish the battle.
