Etrian Odyssey 3 has been announced for the DS from Atlus, according to Japanese magazine Famitsu, who got the official scoop on the upcoming RPG.

For the third entry in the dungeon-crawling role-player, the setting has been switched from forest to the seaside town of Armolod. Where a massive earthquake has uncovered a giant labyrinth underneath.

The game will include all-new character classes like a prince and princess, phalanx, monk, pirate and shinobi, and gives players the ability to explore the ocean on a ship when they aren’t inside the labyrinth.

The game will be released in Japan on March 4, 2010 and will most likely be headed to the United States soon thereafter. Atlus has been on a first-person RPG kick as of late, releasing games like The Dark Spire and the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey outside of Japan, so that bodes well for Etrian Odyssey 3.
