Data East Arcade Classics coming to Wii. Includes Bad Dudes, Burger Time, Joe & Mac and more

Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the President? Classic videogame line
Data East is one of the few companies who has never gotten a true modern-day compilation disc. That is about to change though as the ESRB has rated “Data East Arcade Classics” for Wii.

This collection will be published by Majesco and contains many arcade/NES classic titles from Data East, including:

* Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja
* Burger Time
* Caveman Ninja/Joe & Mac
* Secret Agent
* Street Slam (Neo Geo)
* Magical Drop III (Neo Geo)
* and many more.

“Are you a bad enough dude to save the President?” I actually never played that infamous Bad Dudes game, and Burger Time is an arcade classic that even my mom loves. So sounds like a good compilation to me.

Data East was founded in April of 1976 produced one of the first cartridge-based arcade game systems, 1980’s Deco Cassette System. It pioneered the fighting genre with Karate Champ in 1984 and later was famously (but unsuccessfully) sued when its Fighters History was seen by Capcom as emulating Street Fighter II a little too closely. The company dropped out of sight by the end of the 1990s and declared bankruptcy in 2003.
