At PAX 2009 Ron Gilbert, the creator of Monkey Island fully revealed and showed off his all-new game called DeathSpank.
In the works for years (since 2004), the game is described as “Monkey Island meet Diablo” and is an action RPG/Adventure title that will be released in episodic form and uses Ron’s unique mix of storytelling and brand of humor. Part 1 will be entitled “DeathSpank Episode One: Orphans of Justice”.
In a tour of the game given to Joystiq, more was learned about the game such as how the player has limited control over the camera. It features a rolling horizon to compensate for lack of camera control. The game however is an RPG and thus features a huge world for you to explore. There’s different regions from snow-capped mountains to rolling fields connected by water. Which means you eventually will get a ship that will allow you to discover the rest of the world.
