Final Fantasy XIII downloadable content being looked at for XBLA and PSN

Please, no FFXIII Summon DLC! I BEG OF YOU!
Square Enix may already have plans for FFXIII DLC, which would be a first for the company as far as its main Final Fantasy series is considered (not counting the online titles, of course).

Producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that they are “exploring” the option of DLC for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions via PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. This content would consist of new Items, new Areas or new Enemies, although nothing has been decided yet at this point.

However he states that the DLC would be extra stuff and wouldn’t tie into the game’s storyline, as he wants that stuff to be already on the disc.

To quote,
“We are exploring the option of downloadable content, perhaps adding new areas, items or enemies, but these would not be expansions to the story, only the gameplay. The entire story of FF13 will be on the disc,” according to Kitase.

This is a turn around for the company who previously stated that they would not release DLC for the game. However I’m sure they realize that any extra money is good money. Eh.
