Loom 2 AKA Forge could be the next sequel going in development at Telltale

Could Loom 2 or a Loom episodic series be next for developer TellTale Games?

The ex-LucasArts staff has already put into action new episodic series based on Sam & Max and now Tales of Monkey Island. And many people would love to see a sequel to Loom, a serious fantasy point-and-click adventure game released in 1990 for PC.

The game would also be a nice change of pace for TellTale games who have so focused on humor in their games.

And according to design director Dave Grossman (who worked on several original Lucasarts adventures and headed development of Tales Of Monkey Island), Loom may indeed be their next title.

To quote from an interview:

“The one I always think about these days is Loom actually, and how ahead of its time it was. I think the problem with it at the time was that it was only two and a half hours long and now I find myself deliberately trying to design games that are only two and a half hours long. So I think… well, why not do that?”

Loom was originally going to be followed by two sequels: Forge and The Fold. However the games never materialized. So if this new game does happen, it could incorporate the story elements that they were going to go with and give the fans what they originally intended.

It’s a great time to be a fan of these classics. That’s for sure.
