Is Jet Grind Radio 2 coming to Wii anytime soon?

While the game may or may not be CURRENTLY in development, Sega was at least in talks about the title after Headstrong Games proposed to develop it. And had even commissioned artist Corey Lewis to create new versions of the series’ characters, as you can see in the pic on the right.

According to him Sega had gotten a proposal on a new version of Jet Grind Radio all the way back in 2006 and settled on the Wii as a platform. But he says that the game proposal “didn’t take”. But at least we know that Sega has thought about it in the recent past.

And while 2006 isn’t so recent. 2008 is. And that is when Sega mysteriously filed a NEW Jet Grind Radio patent that was seperate from the original Dreamcast-era trademark. This was all the way back in July of last year.

Sega though has seen some success on the Wii and has continued strong support for the platform. And they’ve been especially keen to revive classic franchises for the Wii. Big Sega Wii titles include Nights: Journey of Dreams, Samba de Amigo Wii, The House of the Dead: Overkill and The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, MadWorld, Sega Bass Fishing and The Conduit.
