StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty has been officially delayed until 2010. Although it is disappointing for fans who were looking to delve into the beloved universe once more, it is not surprising in the least. As no one really expected the game to actually make it out this year.
The game has been delayed due to Blizzard’s need to completely revamp Battle.net, their online web service that will be an integral part of StarCraft 2, Diablo 3 and all of their future games.
In a statement to the Blizzard community, the developer writes “Over the past couple of weeks, it has become clear that it will take longer than expected to prepare the new Battle.net for the launch of the game.”
