It has been revealed that a Skate or Die 3 videogame was in development by Criterion, but was cancelled by EA before they could announce or launch the reboot of the classic extreme sports videogame.

This Skate or Die screenshot makes excellent wallpaper Skate or Die was originally released in 1987 for a slew of computer systems. However it gained more extreme (pardon the pun) popularity when the skateboarding game hit the NES that same year. It was released by Konami and published under the “Ultra Games” label.

The game quickly became popular and is now known as one of the extreme sports classics from the bygone 8-bit era. The game was re-released for the Wii Virtual Console in 2007 in Europe and Australia, although sadly the game has yet to be re-released on the Wii Virtual Console in America.

However if you really want to play the game is can be pretty easily tracked down online or wherever you buy your NES games.

Here is a video of the game in action.
